South Idaho Dispatch

Dispatch Zone

South Idaho Interagency Dispatch Center (SIIDC), located in Shoshone, ID, covers about 11.8 million acres of federal, state, and private land. SIIDC, in conjunction with the Bureau of Land Management, U.S. Forest Service, Idaho Department of Lands, and four other cooperators, with assistance from five Rangeland Fire Protection Associations, provides wildland fire suppression and support for federal and state lands from Stanley down to the Nevada/Utah border and Glenn’s Ferry over to Massacre Rock, west of American Falls. SIIDC also works closely with local county dispatch centers to provide support for wildfires impacting the Wildland Urban Interface (WUI). In addition to local wildland fire suppression, SIIDC and its cooperators mobilize personnel, equipment, and aircraft throughout the country in support of wildfire incidents, prescribed burns, and more.

Interagency cache

The interagency fire cache stores and distributes supplies for all wildland fires in South Idaho. The cache is responsible for stocking tools, gear, clothing, water, food, and other firefighting supplies that firefighters need to perform their jobs safe and effectively. The supplies the cache orders come from NIFC and the Great Basin Cache. Cache managers are responsible for ensuring equipment and supplies meet required safety standards. A primary responsibility is ensuring there is enough supplies to meet firefighter needs, and coordinating supply runs out to incidents.
