About Us

The Twin Falls District Fire Management Program operates the largest initial attack program in the BLM.  This is due to our high fire load and frequency. We average around 60 initial attack fires each year and 90,000 acres burned.  We have a large variety of initial attack resources that include 16 type 4 engines, 4 type 3 super heavy engines, 3 type 6 light engines, 3 water tenders, and 3 initial attack dozers.  In addition to managing local initial attack, we strive to aggressively support large fires throughout the nation.
